Blower Repair

For customers that experience blower failure, we offer comprehensive blower repair services. Our technicians have experience in repairing all types of blowers. As New York State’s Authorized Sales and Service Supplier for Howden Roots® blowers, GEC technicians are required to attend service training every two years.

Upon receiving a failed blower, our team conducts thorough visual examination and inspection of the equipment’s condition, taking care to consider all environmental factors, such as filtration, ventilation, and lubrication. Through this analysis, they troubleshoot the blower, determine the root cause of failure, and resolve the issue. Depending on the root cause identified, they can provide repair instructions to bring it back to proper working order and/or recommendations to eliminate the cause entirely to prevent future failure. Before performing any repairs, the team waits on the decision of the customer—whether they want to invest in blower repairs or replacement.

Pump Repair

We carry out pump repair requests similarly to how we handle blower repair requests. Once our team receives the failed pump, they inspect its condition—including in regard to NPSH, temperature, pressure, rotation, clearances, and other variables—to find the root cause of failure. If the failure is caused by normal wear, they determine what repairs are necessary to bring the pump back to optimal working conditions and send their recommendations to the customer for approval.
We carry out pump repair requests similarly to how we handle blower repair requests. Once our team receives the failed pump, they inspect its condition. GEC works with the customer to gather important operating data including NPSH, temperature, pressures, rotation, alignment and other variables—to help find the root cause of failure. If the failure is caused by normal wear, they determine what repairs are necessary to bring the pump back to optimal working conditions and send their recommendations to the customer for approval. If it is determined the root cause is related to site conditions, GEC works with the customer to develop the best corrective action.

Our pump repair services include balancing, shaft welding, seal repair, and pump clearance calibration. Our service engineers are trained to handle repair requests ranging from simple to highly detailed and specialized.

Part Replacement

We maintain a vast inventory of replacement parts for pumps and blowers to minimize the time required for repair and replacement operations. Our part inventory includes components for Wilden® pumps, Howden Roots® blowers, and a variety of repair kits.
If we don’t have a particular part in stock, we can source it from the manufacturer and ship it directly to the customer. Armed with 60+ years of experience sourcing OEM and aftermarket parts and an expansive library of service manuals, our team can find virtually any pump or blower part needed, even if a customer only has the model and serial number.
Upon request, we can also manage a customer’s parts inventory to streamline repair and maintenance operations.

Engineering Services

We offer a wide range of engineering services to help customers design and build systems that meet their exact fluid handling system needs. Some of the performance requirements we focus on include:

  • Net positive suction heads (NPSH)
  • Piping sizes
  • Pressure drops
  • Energy usages

After analyzing a pumping system, our team can develop a customized solution that is optimized for processing efficiency, resulting in significant savings—regarding energy usage and money—for customers. One of our most recently developed solutions is an air distribution system that saved 60% more energy than other systems.

Other services include:

  • Troubleshooting. Our engineers are trained to identify potential system issues and determine the right course of action—whether in regard to troubleshooting or maintenance—quickly and easily.
  • Preventative maintenance. Preventative maintenance programs are available to help customers maintain the long-term performance of their systems.
